The Dark Knight Rises

THE final movie in Christopher Nolan’s epic Batman trilogy, and if it’s action you want, you’ve come to the right place. This one starts eight years after the end of The Dark Knight, with Batman still banished from the city for the apparent murder of the heroic Harvey Dent. Only New York police commissioner James Gordon knows the truth about Harvey’s murderous ways, and it has tortured him ever since. As for Bruce Wayne, he has become a near recluse, still dealing with the death of Rachel at the hands of The Joker, as well as the physical toll on his body from years of crime fighting. But when a new villain rears his head - and it’s a big head - can Batman be persuaded to come out of retirement? The evil enemy in question is Bane, a giant brute of a man who is kept alive by a mask over his nose and mouth. In his own words, he is ‘Gotham’s reckoning’, and with plans to destroy the city with a nuclear bomb, he might just be right. This is a fantastic ending to a film series which has gotten better with each movie release. But some advice: try to watch Batman Begins and The Dark Knight before this one to get a sense of the story, and then sit back and enjoy the ride.
