LEWIS Caroll’s magical fairytale of Alice in Wonderland is brought brilliantly to life and leaps into the 21st century in Tim Burton’s movie masterpiece.
Burton breathes some fresh air into the classic tale and takes a fresh look at many of the much-loved characters.
In this twist of the tale Alice is 19 years old and returns to the whimsical world she first entered as a child, embarking on a journey to discover her true destiny and defeat the Jabberwocky.
As you’d expect with Burton he’s called in the talents of Johnny Depp (The Mad Hatter) and Helena Bonham Carter (The Red Queen) to add to the quirky, dark, yet humourous feel.
And they do a grand job.
Depp is perfect as the Hatter, it’s a role that suits his style, just like Willy Wonka in ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’.
The pairing of Burton with Disney is spot on and has produced an entertaining and captivating film.
The CGI and attention to detail within the film is terrific and Wonderland, or is that Underland, is created in a truly magical way.
