I HAVE to say that I do not enjoy horror films. But ‘Insidious’ is the exception to the rule. It tells the creepy tale of happily married couple Josh (Patrick Wilson) and Renai (Rose Byrne) who move into their new suburban home with their three young children.
They haven’t been in the property long when tragedy strikes their young son and soon, Josh and Renai begin to realise all is not what it seems. They soon find their lives turned upside down by paranormal forces and are forced to seek help to protect their family.
I was gripped by the twists and turns in this film and enjoyed it from beginning to end. It’s not really gory, but it is creepy and leaves you wondering what is going to happen next.
The only criticism is I would say it is a lot like ‘Poltergeist’ - having said that I still found it very entertaining and the characters were quite believable.
I am looking forward to seeing the sequel and hope the storyline is just as good.
But if you are of a nervous disposition I would advise watching this film from behind the sofa with the lights on!
