Silver Linings Playbook

Usually when something has been built up too much it can’t help but fail, but in this instance the opposite was true.
Silver screen’s darlings of the moment, Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence, really shine in their leading roles, and Mr Cooper proved himself fairly nifty on his feet into the bargain.
The film tells of former teacher Pat Solatano’s struggle to adapt after coming out of a psychiatric hospital into the care of his parents following the break-up of his marriage, which he fails to accept.
His complex life becomes a little more so when he meets the recently widowed sister of his best friend’s wife, a recovering sex addict who he embarks on a bizarre love/hate relationship with.
This touching, disturbing yet totally poignant movie will stick in your mind for a long time.
