Scottish entertainer Ronnie Corbett has passed away, aged 85.

Best known for his role in The Two Ronnies, the BBC comedy sketch show became one of the most loved shows of the 20th century.

His publicist said: “Ronnie Corbett CBE, one of the nation’s best-loved entertainers, passed away this morning, surrounded by his loving family.

“They have asked that their privacy is respected at this very sad time.”

The comedian has left us with a lifetime’s worth of hilarious jokes.

Here are some of his best:

“French wine growers fear that this year’s vintage may be entirely spoiled due to the grape treaders’ sit-in.”
