Family shocked at Glenrothes diver’s death

A GLENROTHES man has died in a tragic diving accident.

James Irvine went missing in Largo Bay while diving.

The 42 year-old’s body was finally recovered by specialist police divers.

Mr Irvine was said to be an experienced diver who was using a boat operating in six metres of water.

A police spokesman said: “Family and friends of James, who is also known as Jim, are deeply shocked and saddened by what has happened and request respect for their privacy at this difficult time.”

Police are working closely with health and safety officials to find out what happened.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal at Kirkcaldy.
