A GLENROTHES mother has spoken of her anguish over her son who is trapped in war-torn Libya.
Elaine Thornton has been unable to contact Jossif and fears he may have been conscripted into leader Colonel Gaddafi’s army as they battle rebels trying to topple the regime.
And she admitted bitterly regretting agreeing to let him return to the troubled country last year.
It was only two years ago that the Tanshall woman was re-united with Jossif and his brother, Amir, who were snatched and taken to their father’s homeland when they were young boys.
Elaine’s long-running campaign for her sons’ return from their grandparents ended successfully in the summer of 2009 when they left Libya for a new life in Glenrothes.
But Amir returned to Libya nine months ago.
