A venture known as the East Neuk Retreat and a rolling programme of special commissions are two new initiatives announced by East Neuk Festival director Svend Brown, following the success this month of its 10th anniversary programme.

In its first decade, the Festival has secured a reputation as one of the UK’s most noted annual events, by always investing in imaginatively programmed chamber music, performed by leading international musicians.

It has also provided valuable opportunities to young musicians to perform to an appreciative and knowledgeable audience.

By way of further nurturing young talent, the East Neuk Retreat will launch in 2015 to actively support and inspire young musicians in a focused, yet relaxed environment.

Sven said: “A passion for chamber music is at the heart of ENF. Anything we can do to nurture its excellent performance and the continuance of its great traditions is an investment in our future as well as the futures of all the musicians who will attend.”
