Burntisland Golf House Club got into the festive spirit early by hosting a Christmas fayre at the weekend in aid of

charity.

The event aimed to raise as much money as possible for the ‘ Coats for Kids’ appeal which is part of the Cash For Kids charity.

It featured many stalls from Fife-based businesses and a raffle to boost the total raised.

Local stall holders including Heavenly Goodies, Daisiboo Candles, Coastal Reflections, Fife Cat Shelter and Bag & Beauty Boutique all donated a prize for the raffle along with other businesses including The Toll Centre, Cosmopolitan Events UK, Dunnikier Barbers and Stacey Whittaker Make-Up Artist.

The club also donated a four ball round of golf.

Lorraine Simpson, ladies vice captain at the club, who helped organise the event, was pleased that so many people came along.

She said: “It was a lovely day and a great turnout. We had a special guest in the form of “Courage the cat” who popped in for a visit too.

“He is the mascot for Cash for Kids, and he stayed for the delicious Sunday Carvery we have fortnightly.

“The money raised from the raffle came to £220 and the Golf Club split the proceeds and donated £110 to the Coats for Kids Appeal for Cash for Kids.

“For as little as a £2 donation can help pay towards a coat for a child this winter,” Lorraine continued.

“Cash for Kids are working together with retail store Primark to do this, and any amount that is donated is gratefully received.”

“Burntisland House Golf Club would like to thank everyone who donated gifts and cash and to those who also for came along to the fayre,” she added.
