Two East Neuk eating places have managed to star in the UK’s longest running, bestselling restaurant guide.
Anstruther Fish Bar features in the Waitrose Good Food Guide 2014, while The Peat Inn has made it in at number 28 on its much-coveted top 50 restaurants listing.
The Anstruther Fish Bar’s renowned quality of fish and chips regularly sees visitors flock from across the country to taste its delights in the picturesque harbour setting.
The five-star Peat Inn, just outside St Andrews, offers modern cooking based on the finest local and seasonal ingredients, also making it a favourite with both local people and those from further a field.
Elizabeth Carter, consultant editor of the Good Food Guide, praised the two entries. She said: “Scotland seems to be a magnet for talented chefs. While the country has a wealth of top restaurants, particular acknowledgement must go to the new entries in Waitrose Good Food Guide 2014.
