Jockey, Lucy Alexander, made history at Musselburgh on Thursday, February 16 when she picked up her 23rd victory of the season and in doing so broke the record for the most number of wins for a female jockey in a British jumps season.

Her performance on Red Tanber in the 2m4f novice handicap chase allowed Lucy to surpass a record set by Lorna Vincent, with 22, in 1979-80. Twenty one year-old Lucy, who hails from Kinneston, just outside Leslie where her father has a training establishment, claims 5lb and her wins this season have come for ten different trainers. She said: “I’m delighted and it’s fitting it has come on Red Tanber. He’s been great for me and loves it around Musselburgh.”
