Fifers will get the chance to have their say on an important plan which will determine the future shape of communities when a consultation begins next month.
The Kingdom’s local development plan, called FIFEplan, will now begin a further round of consultation following approval by Fife Council’s executive committee.
FIFEplan is the blueprint for the future shape of the Kingdom including setting out sites for new housing, business and other developments.
A wealth of work has been carried out and individuals and communities have already had the chance to have their say on different stages of the plan.
Lesley Laird, depute Council leader, said: “This is a plan for Fife’s people, economy, and places. It promotes Fife as a place to invest in while protecting its varied and rich natural and built heritage.
“It is intended to shape the land use and planning for Fife and its communities over the next 10 years. I’d like to thank everyone who has already taken the time to get involved in the FIFEplan process so far.
“We have listened to the comments communities and elected representatives have already made through the earlier consultations in order to shape and inform the final recommendations for the proposed FIFEplan.
“We do urge people to take the opportunity to get involved and give their views. Even if people have already commented I would urge them to continue to contribute.”
The consultation on the proposed FIFEplan will begin in October and more details will be available soon. Public drop-in information events will be held and the Council will contact those who have registered through previous consultations.
