Fire crews leaving blaze site at Rosyth dockyard

Firefighters fighting a blaze at Rosyth dockyard on Tuesday, 1 November, have said the fire was located in an extractor fan.

Crews have now left the scene and nobody was hurt in the incident, Fife Fire and Rescue Service told Fifetoday.

Emergency services attended a fire in a stairwell on the Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier which is being built at the Babcock yard.

40 firefighters attended the scene.

Babcock which runs the yard said the fire was caused by a smouldering piece of equipment.
