Kirkcaldy’s first ever country fair has been a great success.
The event held at Dunnikier Park, welcomed huge crowds and the sun shone as everybody enjoyed a wide variety of entertainment.
Children had fun at the mini fairground which included a giant slide, bouncy castle and teacup ride.
The pony rides also proved to be very popular and those brave enough got close to different birds of prey.
The K107 radio road show provided the music and held a dance competition for the youngsters and for those who just wanted to show off their moves.
Following its success, thoughts have turned to whether we can hope to see the fair return next year.
Sue Bennett, chairman of the Dunnikier Park Development Group, said: “Everybody has had a fantastic time so much so that there is already talks about the fair returning next year!
“We were all taken by surprise at the amount of people that turned up and I’m glad that the weather stayed nice. The sun came out as things were starting off, and went away again around 4 p.m., which was perfect.
“The highlight of the day was just everyone coming along and having a good time. I’m hopeful that this won’t just be a one off event.
“I’ve had many people coming up to me saying that they’re glad that the park is getting used at long last, so hopefully we can follow on from this year with something better next year.”
