First Minister Nicola Sturgeon was in town today (Wednesday) meeting with staff at Barnardo’s.
She was there with candidate Roger Mullin and Dave Torrence MSP.
She chatted with staff, and praised the hard work that they do in Kirkcaldy and the surrounding area - but the visit over-ran and plans to go visit the party’s High street shop were shelved.
Mr Mullin said: “Having Nicola Sturgeon visit Kirkcaldy was fantastic for the town and the staff at Barnardo’s.”
Meanwhile, he has been out and about canvassing, handing out close to 150,000 leaflets within the community.
Roger said: “I am out every day joined by volunteers to meet with people.
‘‘I have been in s Aberdour and Lumphinians to speak with supporters and I have to say that the feed back that we have received has been encouraging.
“Being seen in the area lets people know that they can approach us if they want to talk about the election or any other pressing issue that they might have,” he said.
“It has proved popular and is something that we will continue to do right up until the election.
“We are also hosting street meetings in the future. It isn’t something that I have done before but I am looking forward to it.’’
