Organisers are pulling out the stops to make the last St Andrews Night Market the best yet.
It was a new concept for St Andrews but the night markets, held at Balgove and organised in conjunction with the Eden Brewery throughout the summer, have been very well received, with up to 250 people turning up for evenings of food and entertainment.
The final one next Wednesday should be just as much fun, with six-piece blue grass band Wire and Wool from Dundee playing all evening. Known for their lively shows, the band are expected to play up a storm with vibe expected at the market.
As ever the food is a top attraction, with new faces such as Ocelot Chocolate and Pickering’s Gin coming up from Edinburgh, as well as some local returning favourites, such as Summer Harvest Oils, Chillilicious, and Trotters Condiments. There will also fresh food and drink from Balgove’s kitchen.
The markets were the idea of Jamie Craig-Gentles, of Eden Brewery, and Liana Nickel, of Balgove, who were inspired seeing other similar ventures while travelling and suspected they would appeal to visitors and locals in St Andrews.
