Billy Anderson and his Albany ceilidh band are always in big demand - anywhere - thanks to their polished, fun performances.
A well-known accordionist and Radio Tay AM presenter, Billy is also one of Scotland’s top band leaders.
Over the years he has taken his music to many parts of the world, including America, Canada, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Brunei, Sarawak, Germany, Holland, Italy and Monaco.
He has been ably accompanied to his overseas events by some of Scotland’s finest musicians.
In 2008, Billy and Albany won the highly-prestigious Guest Act of the Year award from the National Association of Accordion and Fiddle Clubs.
Billy is involved with local Radio Tay AM in Dundee, where he has presented his weekly ‘Sounds Scottish’ programme for the past 26 years.
In St Andrews, he teaches piano accordion at Madras College on a weekly basis.
The standing of his band in Scotland is such it is sought by everything from private functions – including weddings – to corporate events and cabaret in some of the finest hotels.
Billy and Albany have produced several CDs over the years, including the Albany Stage Show, and have also featured on BBC Radio Scotland’s ‘Take the Floor.’
