They didn’t last as long as Bentley’s nightclub, but CB Talk nevertheless left an indelible mark on the Fife music scene in the ‘80s.
Comprising Pete Baillie on drums, John Bell on bass and vocals, Ian Brown on guitar and vovals and Ken Morton on guitar and vocals, CB talk were formed in early 1980 and stayed together until the end of the year.
That - too short - 12 month stint saw them play their own set of original songs to local audiences at The Dutch Mill, Kirkcaldy, The Commercial in Cowdenbeath, The Apollo, Glenrothes, The Cuinzie Neuk in Kinghorn and the Lochgelly Centre.
Further afield, gigs included The Bungalow Bar, Paisley, the Tamdhu, Bannockburn, Eric Browns and the Calton Studios, both in Edinburgh.
As for the playlist it contained the following CB Talk classics: Wind of Change, Bandits at 10 O’Clock, Stuck on me, Affairs of the Heart, Personality and Missing Persons.
