A young woman from Windy- gates is hoping for success when she competes in a national beauty pageant next year.
Molly Barclay (18) has been chosen to represent Fife in the Miss Galaxy Scotland competition which takes place in Lancashire next March.
She’s hoping to replicate the success of fellow Windygates beauty Melissa Douglas who was crowned Miss Teen Galaxy Scotland in 2012.
If successful in March, Molly could be off to America to represent Scotland in the world stages of the pageant.
Molly, a former Kirkland High pupil, said she is really happy to be representing Fife at the competition.
“It’s really good, because I beat a lot of other girls.
‘‘My family have been really supportive and my mum and sister will be making my dresses.”
In preparation, Molly, who is being sponsored by local taxi firm Taxi Centre Fife, has to do 10 appearances, and is hoping to fundraise at the same time.
“I want to raise money for grass sickness, which is a condition which kills 90 per cent of horses,’’ she said.
“I actually have five horses myself, so it will be a case of changing my wellies for heels! I want to raise as much as I can, and plan to bag pack and do a sponsored walk.”
