IT was full steam ahead at this year’s St Andrews Model Railway exhibition, held in the town at the weekend.
The annual event, organised by the East Neuk Model Railway Club, was held in the Madras College South Street building on Saturday and Sunday.
Attractions on display included working layouts depicting British and foreign railways in a variety of scales.
And this year there was a Lego display which proved to be particularly popular with some of the younger visitors to the exhibition.
Thankfully, the weather was kind over the weekend and visitors of all ages were able to enjoy the ‘Drive a Train’ experience - with members of the Glenrothes and District Society of Model Engineers on hand with their passenger carrying steam railway.
Exhibition manager Arran Aird, from Crail, was happy with this year’s event.
He told the Citizen: “It was another successful event with a good turnout of visitors,” he said.
“We managed to put on all the displays we were planning on using and the traders were happy with the amount of business they managed to get done over both days.
“All in all we are happy with how it turned out.”
