GALLATOWN Gala is set to make a comeback this Saturday after a three year hiatus.
Organised by people from the local community along with link up the Gallatown - this is a traditional gala, aimed at bringing the whole community together - young people, families and older folk.
And there’s something on offer for everybody. Take your pick from bouncy castle, outdoor soft play, mini Olympics, bowling, music workshops, face painting, nail art, arts and crafts workshop, scone making, the revolution bus with Hub nurses and the icing on the cake - a community barbecue run by volunteers - with salads provided by Fife Diet.
Greener Kirkcaldy will be on hand to advise people on reducing their fuel bills and demonstrate how you can grow your own veg, while Sustrans will be there to promote all things walking and cycling.
Dr Bike will also be available for free bicycle servicing - so dig your rusty bike out and take it along to Davey’s bike shed.
If there is a burning local issue you would like to talk about, then members of local tenants and residents association GESTRA will be there to help or give advice.
There’s also a great afternoon of entertainment planned with local DJ Darren Glass spinning some tunes and young band The Outlaws closing the gala with a set of original songs and covers that will have everybody dancing their way home.
If you are feeling peckish or thirsty, then Gallatown Park Bowling Club will be providing cream teas and refreshments on the day to help raise club funds, as well as very kindly donating their facilities for public use - offering free bowling lessons provided by their four in-house qualified coaches.
The fun in Gallatown Park starts at noon and will run to 4.00 p.m. and everyone is welcome to attend.
Now all the organisers hope is that the sunshine decides to go along on Saturday too!
