Former staff from Leven’s Remploy factory organised a cake sale recently to remember lost colleagues and raise money for Macmillan Cancer Care.

The national charity hosts its Coffee Morning event every year, and those who had worked for the Banbeath-based employer decided to join in, with help from their Fife Employment Access Trust (FEAT) mentor Linda Abbott, who has been helping them get back into work.

In just two hours at Buckhaven Community Centre, the team (pictured above) raised a fantastic £347.70.

Linda said: “We have to say a big thanks to Keith Stuart, from Stuart’s, who donated the majorty of the cakes for us to sell. We also need to thank Dave McGrath, Dave Paterson and his team at Fife Council and a special thanks to Hyndhead school, who came along and bought lots of cakes.”
