A Glenrothes student is celebrating after making it to the finals of a nationwide beauty pageant.
Aimee Gibson (18), has been selected as a finalist for Miss Teen Galaxy Scotland next March where she has chosen to represent Fife.
The beauty therapy student told the Gazette: “I hope this experience is the key to boosting my confidence, I have always wanted to participate in this beauty pageant and when I got a letter through the door saying I had been selected as a finalist it was like a dream come true.
“Everyone has been so supportive I can’t thank them enough for all their support.
“These people have put me where I am.”
Aimee said this is not her first beauty pageant, she’s taken part in three before, but Miss Teen Galaxy is the one she’s really wanted to be part of.
She said: “I’m excited as this is the one I have always wanted to enter.
“I was over the moon when I heard I was through.”
In the Galaxy competition final, which will take place in Lancashire in March, participants must take part in four rounds.
These include an interview, fashion wear, evening wear and swim wear.
Aimee added: “Pageants really are such a great opportunity for young women, I am grateful to my sponsor who is a photographer for enabling me to compete in this competition.”
She will now be focusing on training for Miss Teen Galaxy, along with choosing her dresses for the competition and making appearances in the local area.
Galaxy was one of the first American pageants to be brought to the UK.
The winners of the Galaxy pageant - which has Junior Teen, Teen, Miss and Mrs categories - will compete for the international title in Orlando, Florida.
