Gallatown residents are being urged to go surfing – on the net!
The area’s internet cafe has started back up again at a new venue in Gallatown Park Bowling Club, and it will run every Tuesday from 10.30 a.m.-1.30 p.m. providing free access for anybody living in the Gallatown or east Kirkcaldy.
The cafe is run by volunteers who are happy to offer advice and support to anybody who needs a helping hand with emails, job applications or just a coffee and blether while surfing the net.
With new benefits all being filled out online soon it’s vitally important that people have internet access in the heart of their communities, with the necessary help and support at hand. 16 million people in the UK aged 15 and over still don’t have basic online skills, yet 90 per cent of all jobs will require ICT skills by 2015.
Anybody over the age of 16 is welcome, especially people who have have never tried going online before. For more info call Shuggy on 07557913860, or visit @upthegallatown.
