Fife-based Enid Hutt Gallery has announced the release of a collection of new limited edition prints by Scottish artist Jack Vettriano.

The collection of five images entitled ‘Contemplation’ are an example of Jack’s self-taught talent since being bought a set of water colour paints for his 21st birthday. His career in art began in 1989 when Vettriano submitted two canvases for the Royal Scottish Academy annual show where both paintings sold on the first day.

Vettriano, born in Methil, has since broken records and seen his most famous works sell for hundreds of thousands of pounds with his latest feat being his exhibition at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery, Glasgow, which attracted 132,502 visitors between September 2013 and February 2014. The attendance record beat the previous most visited exhibition featuring the Glasgow Boys which drew 123,289 visitors.

Due to a recent accident when he dislocated a shoulder, Vettriano is unable to paint for the forseeable future and is undertaking physiotherapy but is facing a long recovery period.

The new unseen limited edition prints from private collections will be officially released on Friday
