THE final touches are being put to a brand new charity recording of Kirkcaldy’s most famous song, Geordie Munro.
Dozens of fans and musicians have taken the time to add their voices and talent to the new recording, which will be available to buy later this year.
Organised by the same people behind Rock the Rovers, it is hoped the single will raise much needed funds for several chosen charities.
Organiser Gavin Quinn said: “We’ve already had around 25 people involved and there’s another group going to record next week, including former referee John Rowbotham.
‘‘Everyone who has taken part so far has really enjoyed themselves, so we’re hoping the record goes down well!”
Contributors have included local musician Dennis Alexander and singer Jackie Storrar, with the hope to get Val McDermid and Ian Rankin involved in some way.
Organisers will be selling the CD as part of Rock The Rovers music festival, with money raised going to Kidney Kids Scotland, CHAS, Capability Scotland and the Additional Support Class at Valley Primary School, as well as Raith Rovers.
