Fifers are being asked to mark a special date in their diary to help our Maggie’s Centre.
It has launched Maggie’s Kitchen Table Day – Gather and Give, a new fundraising campaign for the charity.
It takes place Friday, February 26, when Maggie’s Kitchen Table Day will see friends, families and colleagues create their own events so they can “gather and give” to make a difference for people affected by cancer.
Helping to launch the event, Eadie Manson, ambassador for Kitchen Table Day Fife, and Louise Duncan, Maggie’s fundraising organiser, enjoyed fun and games around their Kitchen Table at Deep Sea World, North Queensferry.
The big kitchen table is at the heart of Maggie’s Fife as a place where people come together to talk and share their experiences.
Maggie’s Kitchen Table Day aims to celebrate that togetherness by inviting people to come up with their own event which can be as creative and original as they like.
It could be a tea party or a coffee with friends.
It it could be a table-top craft sale, a book club bake off or a night of cocktails and cards.
It could take place at home, at work, in school or on a mountaintop!
Eadie said: “I am delighted to be able to help launch this fantastic new campaign which will raise vital funds for the incredibly important work that Maggie’s Fife does.
‘‘Maggie’s Kitchen Table Day is an opportunity to get together with the people you care about to celebrate, talk and have fun while also making a difference.”
Alison Harrow, centre head added: “I can’t wait to see the wonderful events that people in Fife come up with to help make this day a success.
‘‘We rely entirely on donations to allow us to keep developing our unique programme of support for people affected by cancer.”
