A Glenrothes woman has raised money for a local neo-natal unit to thank them for their help when her baby boy was born 12 weeks early, reports KEVIN QUINN.

Kayleigh Boyle held a fancy dress party at the CISWO in August, to raise money for the unit at Forth Park Hospital in Kirkcaldy that her son Luke was in for over two months.

She said: “We raised just over £600, it was a really good turnout. A great night. It wasn’t packed but more of a turnout than I thought it would be. I’m happy with how it all went.

“One of my friends had a charity wax of his chest, legs, arms and back, the whole lot. It was fun. The bands were good too.

“I haven’t managed to get round to writing the cheque yet, been so busy.

“I want to make sure I give it to Joyce- the head nurse, when I take it in. She was there for Luke the most.

“Luke is doing fine now. He is up to 13 pounds nine, so he is putting on the weight.”
