Take a Pride in Glenrothes is ready for the Britain in Bloom judges visit early next week.

A warm welcome awaits Brendan Mowforth and Mark Wasilewski when they come to town on Tuesday, August 5.

Glenrothes will be competing in ‘Champion on Champions’ category in Britain in Bloom 2014.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Britain in Bloom.

Take a Pride in Glenrothes is made up of community groups, volunteers and Fife Council.

And everyone has been busy in recent weeks preparing the town for the arrival of the judges.

Glenrothes is vying to become only the second Fife community, alongside Falkland, to land the prestigious title.

The past efforts of Glenrothes and the accolades it has brought, including the Gold award for best large town in the 2012 Britain in Bloom competition, have made its efforts the benchmark for others across Scotland.

The winner will be announced later this year.
