The father of a 15-year-old Glenrothes girl who was left alone at a bus station 50 miles from home is demanding answers from Stagecoach.

Auchmuty High pupil Rosie Randall was returning from Glasgow when the Stagecoach bus broke down.

A replacement bus picked up the passengers from the motorway and took them to Cumbernauld bus station where Rosie was left to find her own way home.

“She was upset and cold - they gave no consideration for her safety,” said dad Phil Randall who drove from Glenrothes to pick her up.

“I am livid about this.

‘‘To be honest I am not really interested in an apology - we want to know this won’t happen again to anyone else.

A spokesman for Stagecoach East Scotland said: “Passengers to Fife were able to use the next journey.

‘‘However it seems this was not communicated to these customers and we will proceed with a full internal review to improve these procedures.

“We would also like to apologise for any inconvenience caused on this occasion.”
