Golf event aims to raise lots for Mr G

An impressive array of lots is up for grabs in a silent auction to be held as part of a charity golf day next weekend to benefit a popular St Andrews teacher diagnosed with MND.

The event is to be held on Sunday, November 8, at the Torrance Course to raise funds for Madras College maths teacher Donald Grewer.

Lots up for auction include a night’s B&B at the Fairmont Hotel; a night’s B&B at the Old Railway Carriage, St Andrews and a night’s B&B at 1 Golf Place, also St Andrews.

Also on offer is a year’s membership at St. Andrews University Gym; a corporate box for a Dundee United match; a signed Dundee United ball and a mascot for a home Dundee United match.

For golf enthisiats, there’s a four-ball at the Kittocks Course; a four-ball at the Torrance Course; a four-ball at the Craighead Course, Crail, and a lesson and four-ball at the Dukes Course in St Andrews.

There are also two one-hour video golf lessons at the Jubilee practice range, St. Andrews, as well as various signed golf memorabilia, including caps signed by Tom Watson and Jon Daly, and a driver, bag and book signed by Sir Steve Redgrave.

The Jahangir Balti and Tandoori Restaurant, St. Andrews is offering a voucher, and is expected that other items will be added before the auction takes place.
