The Leslie Fundraisers were out in force at the weekend raising money for another good cause.
Morgan Hill (12) of Glenrothes High School and Devin Robb (10) of Leslie Primary, held a coffee afternoon raising over £300 in aid of three-year-old Jessica Lessells, a Glenrothes girl who was born with a rare brain condition.
Jessica has learning difficulties and mobility problems due to her illness, but has taken part in a few fundraising activities herself to help with therapy and support the groups who help her.
The afternoon held at the Exit Centre was hailed as a great success with craft and gift stalls and a huge cake table laden with goodies.
Jessica’s mum, Karen, said: “The event was really well attended. There was more people than we anticipated and the atmosphere on the day was just fantastic.
“We have a lot more fundraising plans in the pipeline including an X-Factor style karaoke, curry night, charity beard shaving and a sky dive later on this year,” Karen continued.
“We have a lot on!”
In just under two years, the Leslie Fundraisers have raised close to £5000 for a variety of different charities.
Last year, Jessica completed the 300m junior track race at the Glenrothes Road Running festival with the aid of a walking frame.
Next up the youngsters have organised a curry night at the Reya restaurant in Leslie and a sky dive later in the year.
