YOUNG people from across the Kingdom gathered at Kirkcaldy High School for the annual meeting between the Fife Youth Forums and councillors.

The meeting allowed young people and councillors to discuss issues of common concern in their local communities, ask questions about decisions taken by the administration and look at projects where they can work together to make a difference in their local areas.

The question and answer panel was formed by councillors Susan Leslie (Lib Dem), Dave Dempsey (Conservative), Bryan Poole (Independent), Neil Crooks (Labour) and Alastair Hunter (SNP) and hosted by Hamira Khan, chief officer from the Scottish Youth Parliament.

Following question and answer sessions, the youngsters and councillors split into area groups to discuss local issues and local solutions that they can work on together, including strengthening links between area committees and youth forums, participatory budgeting, negative press publicity and welfare reform.
