Fife figures are best

FIFE has posted the lowest number of deaths from heart disease in Scotland.

New figures, collated from health board areas all over the country, show 45.33 people per 100,000 died from heart disease in the Kingdom compared with a national average of 58.19.

The data was collected as part of the Heart Hotspots Scotland campaign, launched on Monday, which also revealedthe presence of a pronounced east-west split in heart health throughout Scotland
