Kennoway care home receives glowing report
AUCHTERMAIRNIE Care Home in Kennoway has been given a glowing inspection report for the care services it provides.
Amanda Welch, an inspector from Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland, visited the home, operated by Fairfield Care Scotland, unannounced at the end of May.
Ms Welch scored the home highly across the board, classing its quality of care and support, staffing and management and leadership as ‘very good’ and its environment as ‘excellent’.
Her report said the home was a very good service that provided a very high standard of care.
Ms Welch added: “Everyone who works here is enthusiastic about the service they provide.
“There are a wide range of opportunities and experiences for all residents regardless of health and cognitive ability.
“There is a warm and friendly atmosphere and relatives are made to feel welcome when they visit.
“The service should be proud of the developments they have made over the last year.
“Everyone who lives and works at this service is continually experiencing a sense of achievement.”
Ms Welch’s report also highlighted Auchtermairnie’s desire to improve and develop and paid particular mention to the managers, staff, residents and relatives who are currently working together to transform the upper level of the home into a dementia friendly space to meet the needs of residents living there.
