CUPARIANS are being urged to help make sure the town looks its best in time for the arrival of the judges in two prestigious horticultural competitions.
Judges in the Beautiful Fife awards will be in town next Friday, July 19, as Cupar seeks to defend its Medium Town title, while the Beautiful Scotland judges will be visiting on July 29. Last year, Cupar won a gold medal as well as the Wright Sustainability Award for ‘green’ initiatives.
Mary Law, chair of Cupar in Bloom, said: “After a disappointing spring the warm weather has really helped things along and the floral displays are looking good.
“We would ask people in the town to help us make Cupar look as attractive as possible by clearing up litter and dog mess and ensuring everywhere is clean and tidy, as the environmental aspect of the awards is very important.”
