A former Lundin Links resident will be taking on a series of challenges this year to raise money for the Homelands Equipment Appeal.

Lesley McDonald (pictured) plans to take part in one physical challenge a month over the next year, and has already completed the Bupa Glasgow Womens 10k – her first ever distance running event.

Over the next 12 months, she plans to cycle in the Edinburgh Night Ride, compete in a duathlon at Loch Leven, climb Ben Chonzie, run, cycle and kayak coast-to-coast in the Rat Race, run the Glasgow 10k and run the Coventry half marathon.

She made the decision to set herself the challenges in support of Homelands after a close family friend with MS was in hospital, seriously ill, and Lesley said it made her fully appreciate having good health and the ability to use her legs.

So far, the Equipment Appeal has raised over £8300, with other events planned over the next few months.
