A KIRKCALDY woman has been honoured by Breakthrough Breast Cancer at a recent event.
Dorothy Bisset was recognised by the charity at their third Supporters Wall event, which honours women who have raised over £1000 for the cause in the last year.
Dorothy was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008. She has since raised over £21,000 by organising a 10K for 10K challenge in Kirkcaldy. Alongside her own name, Dorothy also nominated “The 10K Team Kirkcaldy” to appear on the wall. “Seeing The 10K Team Kirkcaldy on the supporter wall was a very personal and inspiring moment for me,” she said. “Having so many names unveiled shows us that everyone knows someone who has been affected, in some way, by breast cancer.”
Audrey Birt, director for Breakthrough Breast Cancer in Scotland says: “Supporters like Dorothy have done fantastic things to fundraise for Breakthrough, and their efforts make all our research and work into breast cancer possible.”
