WHEN 90-year-old Isobel Green went to see virtuoso violinist Nicola Benedetti in concert, little did she imagine that she would end up being the star attraction!
Isobel, who lives in Cupar, has been a keen fan of classical music for over 75 years and has amassed an impressive collection of celebrity autographs.
Her most prized signatures include three 20th-century violin titans — Yehudi Menuhin, Fritz Kreisler and Jascha Heifetz.
Isobel took her treasured autograph book to the concert in Glasgow, hoping she might be able to add the name of Nicola Benedetti.
She was delighted when she was invited to visit Nicola (24) in her dressing room after the performance — and astounded when she and her star-studded autograph book became the centre of attention.
Nicola was thrilled to see the signatures of her illustrious predecessors and was so taken by Isobel that she insisted on taking a photo of her and her now-famous autograph book which she signed with the words: “To Isobel, with love, Nicola Benedetti”.
The Ayrshire-born violinist then chatted to Isobel and her son Sandy for several minutes, despite a throng of well-wishers queueing up outside her dressing room.
