THE OFFICIAL programme of activities for this year’s Aberdour Festival has been launched with tickets set to go on sale to the public this Saturday.
The event, which runs from July 26 to August 4, is jam-packed with entertainment for all ages with art, comedy, sports, talks, music and much more.
The main highlights will include: popular comedienne Jo Caulfield, known for her appearances on “Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow”, “Have I Got News For You” and “Mock the Week”
She will appear live in the festival marquee - which will be sited just off Hawkcraig Road on the way down to the Silver Sands for the whole week - on Friday, July 26.
The popular Village Market will be set up on Sunday, July 28. There will be a fantastic range of stalls available this year showcasing some of the finest produce that Fife has to offer.
On July 29 the former Runrig frontman Donnie Munro will perform an intimate acoustic gig in the Festival Marquee and he will be joined by current Glenfiddich Fiddle champion Maggie Anderson.
Aberdour Pet Show will take place on July 31.
This year the pet show will be filmed by the BBC for their CBBC show Junior Vets. Also on July 31 as part of the festival’s family film night, the organising committee is hosting its very own BAFTAs – Brilliant Aberdour Film Talent Awards.
The marquee will be transformed into a cinema for the night with a large screen, movie quality sound and projection.
The 30th Aberdour Festival anniversary bake off will be held on August 1. Last year’s Great British Bake Off winner John Whaite will be making a special appearance.
He will be judging the entries, talking about his latest projects and signing copies of his book ‘John Whaite Bakes’ and on Saturday, August 3, the Ronde Haughcross will be in motion.
