A Fife paper mill has said it is expanding its workforce to allow it to increase its capacity to meet the needs of new customers.
The Fourstones Paper Mill in Leslie has been operating on a three- shift system since opening in November 2010. This month they have had to take on a further four staff and moved over to a four-shift system.
Peter Duxbury, managing director of Fourstones, said “This gives us the confidence to grow the workforce and find new markets to expand into.”
Councillor Tony Martin, strategic chair of Fife Council’s environment, enterprise and transportation committee, said: “This is a very encouraging step in the recovery of the mill. Its reopening provided a major boost to the local economy and this increased capacity will allow for a wider customer base.”
