Three youngsters from Leslie have once again proved they are ‘top of their class’ when it comes to raising money for worthwhile causes.
For the girls have just delivered a car boot full of toys and games for the benefit of youngsters at Victoria Hospital’s Children’s Ward.
Morgan Hill (11), and her 15-year-old sister sister Reagan, along with friend Devon Robb organised a Halloween party in aid of the hospital raising £257.15 in the process.
The girls chose to raise money for the ward as their friend regularly has to visit the ward as a patient.
Amanda Williamson, a children’s play specialist at the hospital was on hand to personally thanks the sisters who arrived at the children’s ward laden with goodies earlier this week.
“What the girls have done over the last year or so is remarkable, especially given that they are so young,” said Amanda.
“Coming into hospital can be quite daunting for young people, and so by gifting this donation the girls have allowed us to make the experience that little bit easier.”
The toy donation is the latest in a number of charity efforts the girls have got involved in.
The Gazette even backed the girls efforts making them one of the newspapers ‘community champions’ for 2013.
Brian Coyle, vice chairman of Leslie Community Council was quick to praise the girls for their latest charity success.
“Once again their efforts have been commendable and remarkable considering their young ages, they are a credit to the town,” said Mr Coyle.
Last year they organised a sponsored walk and a series of other fundraising events in the town including a craft fair which helped the girls to donate nearly £2000 towards Cancer Research.
And they’re already planning a number of future events as proud mum Gaynor Hill explains.
“Last year’s sponsored walk from Lomond Hills was a huge success and we want to make it an annual event so this year we’re going to take on a seven mile coastal walk from East Wemyss to Lower Lower Largo,” said Gaynor.
“Also we’re planning a summer fete for August 30 with all the proceeds going towards Kingdom FM’s children’s charity, “ she added.
