The National Cider & Perry Pub of the Year award is given to the pub or club which looks to best promote and aims to encourage sales of good-quality real cider and perry in the area.

Now in its ninth year, the award’s rigorous judging process whittles down public nominations for pubs, clubs and cider houses .

Nominations come in from from all over the United Kingdom and judges are then tasked with making a shortlist of regional and then super regional finalists, before the winner is then announced.

Jim Brande, Fife representative from Apple, the real cider arm of CAMRA, presented owners Willie and Mandy Cunningham with the certificate.

The popular pub, on the High Street in the town, is “absolutely delighted” to have won the top annual award and has proudly displayed its certificate behind the bar.
