A Kirkcaldy couple are taking on two epic challenges over the next few weeks to raise funds for a very worthy cause.
Neil Lawson (48) and his wife Lesley (47) are participating in the Cross Border Challenge on August 30 and the Pedal for Scotland challenge on September 7.
The Cross Border Challenge will involve a 40-mile cycle ride followed by a taxing 10-mile hike along with various other challenges along the route - all within 12 hours.
While the Pedal for Scotland Challenge, which takes place just a week later, is a 47-mile cycle ride from Glasgow to Edinburgh!
The couple are raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust and are aiming to achieve their target of £500.
Neil said the charity is supported by the company he works for.
He said: “I work for City Plumbing Supplies in Rosyth and the Teenage Cancer Trust is the main charity it supports. Every year I like to try and do something to raise money for cancer charities mainly because of my dad who had cancer and passed away three years ago.
“So far I have already completed the Breast Cancer Walk and the Kilt Walk. I have been doing different fundraising events for the past five years.”
Neil said both he and his wife have been preparing for the challenges.
“Lesley has been out running most nights and I have been out on my bike as well as walking to work. We enjoy raising the money as well as taking part in the challenges.”
