A KIRKCALDY man has warned other Lang Touners to be on the look out for a scam letter telling them they could be rich.

David Fisher of Cumbrae Terrace received a letter with a Spanish postmark stating that he had won over 915,000 Euros in the Euromillions lottery.

The letter also states there has been a “mix-up of numbers and names” and gives an e-mail address and phone number to call, asking for bank details to deposit the money into.

Mr Fisher said: “I knew straight away that it was bogus letter but I’m concerned that there are others who may be fooled by it.”

A spokesman for Fife Police said: “If you have purchased a ticket for a foreign lottery and receive notification of a win check it out with their official office.

“The chances are however that this ‘win’ will come as a complete surprise to you. Do not send any money.”
