KIRKCALDY teenager Sandy Wallace has been busy raising funds for a trip to remember.
The 16-year-old has a target of £4000 to reach for his World Challenge to Tanzania in June of next year and thanks to series of fundraising activities, such as a race night at the St Clair Tavern and a concert at Rothes Halls, he’s well on the way.
Recently he bravely undertook a leg waxing at his school, Kirkcaldy High, which raised just over £200! Many of the staff and pupils helped out and beauty salon Studio 7 donated their time for free.
Sandy’s next event is a concert at the Adam Smith Theatre by the operatic group Ensemble. They have agreed to help Sandy reach his target by putting on a performance of vintage music on Friday, September 7.
So far Sandy has raised £3151 towards his trip and is hoping that the concert will help him reach his final figure.
He said: “I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who is making this World Challenge possible for me.”
