ACA Sports and the Mercat are teaming up with Raith Rovers to hold a unique event for the Rally Round Rovers campaign.

Rovers fans will have the opportunity to buy actual training kit used by Rovers’ players both past and present.

The majority of the items will have player’s initials and numbers printed on them, from sweatshirts to tracksuits, to shorts and rain jackets.

Alistair Cameron, managing director of ACA Sports, who is one of the driving forces behind the Rally Round Rovers campaign said: “This really is a unique event, we’ve never done anything like this before.

“We had the idea that we could do something with the pieces of kit that weren’t being used.

“John McGlynn kindly gave his permission for us to sell it off. It’s a great opportunity for Rovers fans at extremely affordable prices, and also it means that the old pieces of training gear aren’t going to waste.”

Alistair was keen to give thanks to the Mercat. “They’ve been very kind in letting us hold this event here,” he said. “And they’re a great help to the club in sponsoring the youth academy.

With the first few events rapidly approaching, Alistair was pleased to announce that the campaign is going well. He said: “The sales for the live music event at Kitty’s are going very well. We’ve got five great bands lined up and we’ll be announcing the comedians soon.

“The FIFA12 tournament at Styx already has over 20 entries, and we now have pink Rovers scarves available in the ACA store, which will also be availble on our website soon.

These will be perfect item to wear for those who are attending the Ladies’ Day against Ayr United on November 12.”

The once-in-a-lifetime chance to get your hands on some unique Rovers memorabilia is on Saturday November 19 between 10.00 a.m – 4.00 p.m, and again on Sunday November 20 between 11 a.m. - 4.00 p.m. in the Mercat Shopping Centre. All items will be priced between £5-£20.
