DANCING ON ICE

Waiting for Video...

YOUNG skaters took those gathered at Fife Ice Arena for Kirkcaldy Ice Skating Club’s annual show on a journey through the decades.

Around 55 skaters, aged four to 18, were involved in the two public performances, as well as a performance for 600 school pupils.

Organisers have once again hailed the show, which this year took the theme of ‘Skating Through The Decades’, as a success.

Jackie Coubrough, head coach at the club, said: “The shows went really well and we’ve had really good feedback from the audiences.

“Most people have said it was the best one yet, so hopefully it was.

“The skaters just love doing it, but now it’s back to the hard work of training for the competitions.’’

The team of performers, the majority of them members of the skating club, alongside some people from the ‘learn to skate’ programme, took to the ice to show off their skills in group and solo performances.

They were skating to a wide range of music covering decades from the 20s, 40s, and 60s, right up to the present day.
