The efforts of Leslie locals has been rewarded with the ‘Best Small Town’ award as part of the 2011 Beautiful Fife Campaign.
The town was awarded a Silver Guilt award for the third year running for their impressive floral displays, with the prestigious addition of being named best small town being the icing on the cake.
Keith Jackson, parks and community events officer said: “It never fails to amaze me how the communities of Fife are responding to this campaign.”
John Greig, a member of the Leslie Community Trust is pleased that the efforts of the community as a whole didn’t go unnoticed.
He said: “The judging panel took into account not only the excellent floral displays but also the efforts of the wider community.
“They were keen to acknowledge the work done to revive the community hall and recognised the positive role that everyone has made.
“It’s certainly an award that all the residents of Leslie can be proud of.”
