LADIES - let’s do lunch!
And as well as getting dressed up, it is all in a good cause.
‘Diamonds And Tiaras’ is the title of the first ever ladies lunch organised to raise funds for our Maggie’s Centre.
It is being held in the five-star setting of Balbirnie House Hotel, and will be hosted by stand-up comedian and TV star, Fred MacAulay.
The lunch, on Sunday, May 19 at 12.30 p.m., is being organised by the recently launched Maggie’s Fife Associate Fundraising Board - and it could become an annual event.
Led by board members, Sharon Hopkinson and Pamela Stevenson, the afternoon gathering will feature entertainment, live music from the Soul Kings as well as the chance to get dressed-up and enjoy dining at Balbirnie. It will also include a raffle and auction for a wide range of prizes.
Sharon said: “Maggie’s Fife is a fantastic charity and I am so privileged to be involved.
‘‘We hope we can make lots of money for the charity on the day.
‘‘The auction and raffle prizes are fantastic - Tom Kitchin through Carters has donated lunch for four with wine in his restaurant in Edinburgh, I know I will be bidding for it!”
Pamela added: “This is our first ladies’ lunch, with hopefully many more to follow. I’m confident the event will be a huge success and an enjoyable day for everyone participating.
‘‘Businesses in Fife have been so supportive of this important charity as well as helping us get the message out to their employees too!’
Tickets and tables are now being sold - and the organisers are also looking for prizes for their raffle and auction.
Tu Edwards, community fundraiser, added: “I’m delighted that we have sold so many tables already. I hope Fifers will help us sell out this fantastic event which is set to be full of fun and entertainment.”
Tickets cost £48, and tables from £480. Sponsorship options are available too.
